We often hear that when a person we love di3s, even though they are absent physically, we can still feel their presence. They remain in our hearts and we can feel their presence in our everyday lives.
Our grandparents leave us heartbroken when they die and we often feel immense sadness. They are the people we see growing up and who share their words of wisdom with us. It is difficult to accept the reality when they are no longer around.
Losing a grandparent is the first biggest emotional struggle most people face. Besides our parents, our grandparents have a very important role in our lives, and losing them causes enormous pain that is difficult to cope with.
Dealing with the loss of a grandparent sometimes takes a lot of time, because we share strong bonds with them. Every person accepts death in a different way but nobody can be indifferent about losing a close person. It is important to talk with your child about such losses because lack of communication about this issue can lead to the child accumulating negative thoughts and sadness.
Instead of talking about death directly, parents should talk to their children about how they feel regarding the entire situation. Kids can’t entirely understand the process of religious thoughts, and it is difficult for them to find meaning when bad things happen in life.
Make sure you let your child know that it is okay to feel vulnerable and they should let their feelings out instead of pushing them inside.
Keep in mind that grandparents are omnipresent.
Grandparents are members of your family which have been there through good and bad times, who supported you your entire life even if your parents were not that present. Grandparents are almost never strict and they let you know about your mistakes with lots of love and care. And, one they when they are no longer here, you feel enormous void which can never be replaced by someone else.
The love we have for our grandparents can remain in the form of personal objects that belonged to them, as well as the gifts they gave us or just through the beautiful memories. Love is unconditional and we felt that from our grandparents.
They thought us to be kind and compassionate and we should continue being such people even after they are no longer here to remind us about it. They provided us with moral support and advice to make good choices. Their lessons remain a part of us even though they are not near anymore.
So, love them back!
Loving your grandparents back is the best gift you can give them. Let them know you enjoy their company while they are still here. Because the more time you spend with them, the more lessons you will have for life once they leave.
Always remember to show appreciation and love just the way they thought you. Remember to be strong in difficult times and never break down or give up no matter how difficult life is. This is the ultimate goal every grandparent has, to leave a legacy for their grandchildren which will help them get through life.
